That idiot from Twitter that you came to BlueSky to avoid.
A single Facebook (Facebook, for crying out loud. I beg you, what year is it?) post by a civil servant asking if private individuals might like to door knock for Harris in their spare time was presented as so egregious as to warrant an extraordinary General Election.
Farage flies off to support Trump, the Royal Family are found to be charging the RNLI & NHS for using “their” land, and neither story has been slammed as hard as Keir Starmer going to see Taylor Swift

We cannot wipe ourselves out fast enough for my liking.

Here's hoping for a Trump win and all out nuclear war in short order thereafter.
Kemi Badenoch and four leading Shadow Cabinet members have all received donations from funders of a Tufton Street climate science denial group

Badenoch now says she is a "Net Zero sceptic" and backs calls to scrap "radical" climate change measures

The UK having our election this year on 4th July and America having theirs on 5th November feels like an odd sort of cultural exchange between our two countries.

How Very Stable Genius of him to fend off a charge if running an illegal lottery by instead admitting to a massive fraud instead.

WILD: Elon and his legal team are floundering, making claims to get around one argument, not thinking about the larger picture or consequences. Here, they say it's not an illegal lottery because it's not random — even though Elon said it was.
Elon Musk lawyer says $1 million voter giveaway winners are not random
Elon Musk's pro-Trump group does not choose the winners of its $1 million-a-day giveaway to registered voters at random, but instead picks people who would be good spokespeople for its agenda, a lawyer for the billionaire said on Monday.

The timeline of this whole story is INSANE.
You didn't know the TikTok-star racist squirrel that became a far-right talking point after being killed by police because its owner wouldn't vaccinate it against rabies in case it became autistic was just a front for the owner's gay porn OnlyFans? Where have you been the last seventeen seconds?

Guys, is it gay to date literally the most eligible woman on earth?
Some loser asked Jason Kelce how it feels that his brother is a f—-t for dating Taylor Swift. Jason turned and calmly shattered the guy’s phone.

@chrisjballard.bsky.social when I said earlier about Badenoch's policies and their comparison with Trump, it was the last bit of this that I meant.
I spoke to Democrats in both Carolinas about what it's like to try and oppose a party that's gone increasingly insane: www.theneweuropean.co.uk/meeting-maga...

Just a reminder that, baring extremis, the macroeconomic situation bears basically no impact on the day-to-day of any given individual. We're all just too small and too poor (relatively) for it to make a difference over any reasonable term.

You're at home. There's a knock on the door. You open it. Stood on your drive are two guys holding signs. Guy 1's sign reads, 'let me in and I'll burn down your house'. Guy 2's reads, 'Let me in I will not'.
Are you honestly taking Guy 1 on the basis that Guy 2 didn't promise to cook you dinner?
People who say that “not being Trump” is a weakness imo are revealing that they really don’t consider him a threat. Otherwise “not Trump” is really a great quality.
the same people calling me a naive idiot appear to have essentially no knowledge of the campaign they are confident is failing.

Is the correct answer.

We simply spend far too much of our money in the completely unproductive 'housing' element of the economy.

Imagine all housing costs halved overnight. The entire economy would explode and the money would be spent usefully (i.e. injected into the circular economy).
Why is the economy still so flat, people ask while landlords hoover up half of everyone's income for doing absolutely fuck all. Why are people so miserable just because they live in a state of constant precarity and can't afford nice things. Such a mystery.

99% of people are ignorant of history. The only fascist they know is Hitler and the only thing they know about Hitler is that he sent Jews to gas chambers.

Ergo, if Trump isn't sending Jews to gas chambers, he isn't a fascist.

The people advocating that 'entrepreneurs' are only staying here because of our favourable tax arrangements are EXACTLY the same people who told us we held all the cards during Brexit negotiations because the UK is a unicorn market with myriad structural advantages over everywhere else in Europe.
Why are 'entrepreneurs' so fragile that the merest hint of something not going their way makes them flee the country, as if there were no reasons to stay e.g. access to a huge market, existing investment in infrastructure, the cost of laying off all staff. Unless they are bullshitting, of course.

But seriously @chrislintott.bsky.social, why is our moon so disproportionately large? What's the rule (there's bound to be one) about moon sizes relative to planets? Are there any planets with a moon bigger than itself? If our moon somehow got much larger, would it become the planet and we the moon?
