We took a little break from winter. We celebrated Ralph's birthday with a week in Madiera. Really lovely, and the food was excellent.

Ralph made biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The hard part is the sausage. Germans don't season sausage with sage... So Ralph gets unseasoned sausage and seasoned it himself.

Oktoberfest just finished here in Munich. It is a crazy wonderful party. People who live here hate it and love it. We have lived here for 8 years and have learned how to navigate this chaotic event. If you come to experience it.
