one reason i reject the 'global, vibes based rejection of liberalism' theory is, as elites have internalised it, they've figured there's nothing to be done other than accommodate fascism

but in fact, when we fight, we win all the time
plenty of things going against the right globally: Bolsonaro's conviction in Brazil, the defeat of the right wing in Norway's election, the student strikes and Saba Saba protests in Kenya (brutal as the repression there was), the EU's von der Leyen pursuing sanctions and trade suspension for Israel

We’re peacefully protesting for our neighbors. What does ICE do?

Pick us up and throw us on the ground. No arrest, no identification, no process.

I wish more politicians understood how the economy is rigged against regular people the way Bill Burr does.

ICE raided Los Angeles elementary schools in an attempt to kidnap small children. They hid their identities, claimed they weren't ICE, and lied to school authorities that they had "permission" from the parents to take the children out. School officials luckily didn't fall for it.

Umm. Can we discuss the ridiculous drawing of Trump’s physique?
Official announcement has come out from Magic Eden. No promotion yet from Trump’s end.

trump reminding us the stakes of this election before canadians go to the polls on monday
Trump was asked about the Canadian election. Said he didn’t want to interfere. Said he had very nice calls with PM Carney. Said he didn’t plan a hike in auto tariffs. Then….Returned to saying U.S. doesn’t need anything from Canada and it should be a state

Another point he made was, Is there a role for the state in building a national tech infrastructure, much like they built a broadcasting one in the last century? When we think about data sovereignty, particularly with reference to te Tiriti, there’s merit in at least exploring that idea.
