To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

Yeah, no.
Those AI models depend on the work of actual experts and what they crap out is always inferior to the work of actual experts.
AI work looks expert-ish to outsiders in a field but if you really know a subject it’s almost always bullshit dressed up a bit.

If you have zero education, but learn how to ask AI models the right questions , in many jobs you will be able to outperform someone with an advanced degree, but who is unwilling to use Large Language Models.
Just takes a smartphone, curiosity to experiment and a mindset to learn.

Once upon a time, trolls who would write me used anonymous accounts. Now they write from their real addresses, with their phone #s right in their signature. Which is how I was able to find out my latest troll works for the largest manufacturer of concrete and clay products in the western US.

This is what I’ve been worrying about since last week, that they will terminate grants that have already been funded. If they’re reviewing all grants to rescind anything DEI-related, I’m sure mine will be on the chopping block.

One thing this excellent article doesn't note is that lenacapavir is a first-of-its-kind HIV drug: a capsid inhibitor (most HIV drugs are protease inhibitors or reverse transcriptase inhibitors/nucleotide analogues). The concept of capsid inhibition was almost entirely developed through NIH funding.
Big Pharma is the only reason anyone still dies from HIV: “We have the means to eradicate AIDS as a threat to human life. Greed is keeping this from happening.”
