J-CO's Board of Directors. Irascible old men, the lot of them.

One eyeball wheeling, seeking, rolling, over the truck's rusted metal rails and to the back window, a flash of long dark hair and gauged lobes — Rushing filled his ears — a heartbeat, maybe, or just the screaming of his cursed energy boiling in the seams of his flesh, pressing into negative spaces between organs — A sharp knock on the window startled him into remembering to breathe. He gulped a hurried inhalation, like surfacing from deep water.

half canon, half my own interpretation, half based off of my partner
a screenshot of a word processing document that reads: Megumi had racked up street fight wins before he could even shave, middle and high school punctuated by parent-teacher conferences and sneaking home late to hide the bruises. Gojo and Geto knew, though. Geto disapproved, but since Megumi only fought bullies and couldn't be reasoned with, his way of keeping Megumi safe became taking him to the dojo. Gojo would just ask if he won, cackle, and tell him not to get himself killed. But he always silently paid the fines and made sure the school stayed off Megumi's back. Megumi realized as an adult it wasn't the most … morally correct thing to do, but neither was a society that actively victim-blamed and protected bullies with 'promising futures.' Gojo never had a problem using an unethical technicality to balance out an overt wrong. It was one of the few things Megumi respected about him. But things changed as they all grew up. Adults played dirty — brought pipes and knives or way too many dudes to take on one lanky seventeen-year-old with half-assed self defense techniques. Megumi was a smart kid, he thought. But it didn't take a genius to see when 'loss' becomes synonymous with 'funeral,' you fucking run. Except once, he wasn't fast enough.

Probably one of the reasons they got along so well. Most of the time. "Sure," Yuji chirped, hoping Todo wouldn't clock his false cheer. "You get all breezy. I'm off to the showers." But before Yuji could slip away, a brick of a hand fell heavily on his shoulder. "Brother." Todo's voice had softened. "There's room for more than one type of airing-out in a locker room. Is something bothering you?" Shit. It had shown on his face. He started to turn, only to abort as he caught a flash of flesh. "Mind putting on a towel?"

Wouldn't be the first time someone had quit, citing the brothers' loving animosity as cause. Yuji considered the Literature homework waiting in his periphery, then decisively closed his laptop. He could just do it tonight, even if it meant losing sleep. "Alright, let's go."
