On Sunday, April 6, 2025, Maziar Tataei, a lawyer for Pakhshan Azizi, announced that the appeal court had upheld the death penalty against his client for the second time. He stated that the appeal court disregarded the defense's objections without reading and considering them.

Jina Modares Gorji, a Kurdish-Iranian feminist, WHRD, and translator, remains imprisoned at Sanandaj prison, serving her 16-month sentence.
Jina, founder of the Sanandaj-based women's rights organization ‘Zhivano,’ was recognized as one of the BBC's 100 inspiring women of 2024.
