Always having games on 26 December is a bit of a myth. Up to the 1980s, if 26 December fell on a Sunday, you'd have to wait until 27 December to see a game because football games weren't allowed on Sundays.

They will, even though it isn't. They also could have televised all the PL games with staggered kick-off times on Boxing Day this year (much as Amazon did last).

Technically, Boxing Day is the Bank Holiday that follows Christmas Day, rather than it being 26 December.
