Parrot fancier, Australian urban wild ones cos I live in a city. Don’t believe birds should be in cages, sold or traded. Protect wild habitat and our beautiful natural world.

We need more nest boxes… the old trees with hollows are scarce in the city

Platypus! She’s the best girl and friend who has been visiting for several years. She turns up when she has babies to feed and wants some top up (almonds) .. ♥️

“Tweety” - an albino black cockatoo preens after bath @ Borowong sanctuary where they look after and conserve wildlife. She was abandoned by her flock because of her colour… she was very thin and found by the side of the road by a member of the public who brought her to the sanctuary (Tasmania).

Musk lorikeets in their hollow in a very old tree. Hollows can take 200 years to appear

It’s very monsoonal today and the lorikeets have been here since early morning… many of them, and they’re not leaving!

I love the wild cockatoos visiting but not crazy about the poo and window chewing… they love nothing more than soft wood (just doing what they’re designed to do — making hollows by chewing wood!). This juvie is jumpy. But gorgeous ♥️🦜

Australian nature. We need it looked after, protected, valued, preserved and respected. Let’s be caretakers of the wild, not its destroyer.
