Damn that’s such a bummer.

Even for tins that normally cost $10 were jacked up to $25 because you can’t find them anywhere else. I’ve noticed this in major cities as well.

I can imagine how the entire price gouging situation puts anyone off wanting to collect. The hobby genuinely got ruined.
Someone in my local city was bitching about this a few weeks ago on reddit. Mainly in relation to one of the only stores in town that gets majority stock for cards. They know that, so they bump up their prices for booster/expansion/boxes n shit. Apparently 1.5 - 2x higher than other places.

I want to collect more Pokémon cards, but the damn scalpel truly ruined everything. You guys had to ruin it for everyone just to make a fucking profit off a god damn card game.

Im about to start making the full transition over to Korean skincare products and Canadian companies like The Ordinary since the US is about to halt the proper regulatory testing for asbestos and other things in skincare and makeup products. Im already working towards never wearing makeup again.

also the problem with fetishizing breaking the rule of law is that fascists use law breaking like gasoline & rely on law's corruption. always been the case that state violence & oppression also thrive by acting under color of law only & not in accordance.
The problem with fetishizing the rule of law is that people have to break the law to resist fascism, state violence, and oppression. This has always been true, and is very much the case RIGHT NOW.

Cannot emphasize this enough.

If you shop on Black Friday, shop only at small biz, minority owned biz, women owned biz, or support independent media.

‘Medicare for All’ still big. “In a survey of 1,207 likely voters [from] Nov. 14–17, 2025, ...65% of voters [supported] a Medicare for All system, described as a ‘national health insurance program... that would cover [everyone] & replace... private health insurance...’" jacobin.com/2025/11/medi...
Medicare for All Disappeared. Its Popularity Didn’t.
The demand for Medicare for All went from the center of the discourse to political exile in record time. But the policy's popularity never faded. A new poll finds strong majority support for the neglected idea among Americans across the political spectrum.

When asked about the death of a W. Virginia National Guardsman, the President of the United States bragged about his electoral margin in her state.

When asked about the shooter, he called the reporter a stupid person.

Please stop holding quarter for anyone supporting this monstrous piece of shit.

the GOP is going to exploit a murder & and get very sanctimonious about working in the military, this is just a reminder that the Trump administration is trying to deny transgender people that privilege to take the oath & work in the military

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

My even more unpopular opinion is unless you have personally experienced the thing, you should probably refrain from having an opinion on it.

We need to return to shaming people for parroting YouTube/TikTok with stuff like "When I want your opinion, I'll just find the YouTuber who gave it to you."

Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea
