Podcast: Beyond The Button Mash
Here to talk about video games 🎮
Before Sweet Baby Inc was… “discovered” ??? People loved God of War: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, etc etc.

They just didn’t like that they got a DEI consultant on it! 🤷‍♀️

If someone makes a story better I’m 100% for paying them. Script doctors have existed for a long time for movies

My job would never see me again if people would play this with me. For that reason, I hate this idea.

I love, love, love opening pokemon packs. I’ve even started doing it again in real life.

I might have a gambling problem.

FWIW the actual Pokemon TCG (not pocket!) is more complex/has more deck variety.

Not a lot, as they seem to like to ban any sort of control like card, but still some!

I used to play a lot of MTG and just clamp my mouth shut when people are discussing pocket poke for the most part 🤷‍♀️🤭

I haven’t even touched 3 yet. I was so young when SHENMUE 1/2 came out, and keep meaning to replay them before I jump into 3!

Maybe I should just watch the story of 1/2 and jump right in at this point 🫠🫣

SHENMUE MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️

I’d like to see Warcraft, but specifically the story of Jaina Proudmoore.

I think instead of doing a series of films/episodes to show the *whole* story, going 1 character at a time with potential Easter eggs/crossover would make for better films. Sort of like the MCU… but set to “wumbo” mode ⭐️

Especially if you work at a desk, spending time/money into an ergonomic setup is so, so, important if you want to game after too.

Our bodies were not meant to hold us in static positions all day, we need some help staying comfortable! That doesn’t mean you’re weak 🫠

Love this!

Gaming chairs scoop your upper back into a bad position for most people, forcing the shoulders forward 😬

Absolutely recommend good office chair 👍 and if you already have one, get a lumbar support pillow if you need a bit of extra help. And one of those back strap/posture correctors 🫣

You’ll look so HANDSOME for the next week and a half!

Merry Christmas!! 🎅

I prefer keyboard and mouse inputs, BUT controllers feel much more ergonomic to me. I work with my hands, and at the end of the day I want a Xbox controller in my hands versus a mouse and keyboard 🥴

Is this real? Kind of obsessed with this idea, would like to read more about it 💀

Yakuza are on my “to play list”, are the remakes in the Like a Dragon games?
December 25, 2024 at 5:27 PM
This is Hyperbolic and attempting to enrage people regarding the “musical theatre universe”, which at this point, does not exist.

It likely never will. MCU was a whole different horse with pre-established stories that intertwine.

Don’t be a 🤡.
Don’t try to enrage people for hits.
December 25, 2024 at 5:20 PM
Ah, a rage bait piece just to get people fired up: “a weaponizing of nerd culture’s desire to see nostalgic texts of their childhood visualized faithfully but realistically on the big screen,”

Polygon, do better. This isn’t a review or a critique of the film- it’s a critique of “nerd culture”.

Even just glancing at the abstract versus the psypost article, feels like two different conversations happening. 🤷‍♀️ Not sure psypost is communicating/representing the study well
December 22, 2024 at 8:43 PM
UNLESS, surprise twist: New Sega console? 🤷‍♀️ I’d buy it!
December 22, 2024 at 6:50 PM
I agree with the idea of: if you don’t want it, don’t play it.

Gaming is the most lucrative entertainment industry, and yet, we still consider it an art form. No doubt some of it (if not most) is made for profit. If it IS an art form still(I think some is), art is political. it is what it is 🤷‍♀️

All this to say, I don’t think it’s relevant that it got a PEGI 18+ rating, but it definitely isn’t consistent with the other gambling game ratings(lootboxes etc).
December 17, 2024 at 11:09 AM
I’ve never known a parent or store to pay attention to the “mature” or PEGI 18+ rating. In Canada it used to be, at least, you had to be 17+ to buy an M game from ESRB

So many kids walked out with Halo games in hand. No one cared. Balataro’s rating isn’t consistent, but it won’t damage it longterm
