I can see a few transcripts on @findmypast.bsky.social for Hannah Hudson and Benjamin Saunders marrying by Banns (Jul 1780) in Sept 1780, with witnesses Ann Shaw and Henry Downton. No sign of Zillah baptism, where i'd hope to be lucky enough see Hannah's birth surname recorded.

A fire broke out on the train, which was unfortunately carrying a load of high explosive bombs. 700 properties in Soham were damaged by the bombs, leaving a 66ft deep crater. The act of the crew saved the town and inhabitants.

Admittedly, i wish i could count... it's the 100th... the 25th November was clearly on my mind... and even then it was the 24th November 😅. Clearly it's my bedtime.

Not sure what happened to my Gt Grandfather's finger - he worked the land, so it was probably just all part of daily life.

Here they are in 1975, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

I believe that my mother has some of a tea set that they were also given on this day in 1925.

This clock spent about 25yrs after their deaths, in pieces (it comes apart) in a carrier bag on a wardrobe, until i took pity on it and put it back together again. It now hangs in my hallway.

The eagle on the top feels a bit 😬, but thankfully this was prior to a similar adoption in Germany.

I have one of their wedding presents - this wooden clock - which was given to them by the bride's mother (and my 2x Gt Grandmother). I remember my Gt Grandparents having it on their wall (abt it was 3x bigger, although i was smaller).
