Feel like I just "leveled up" when coming to realize the entire keystone principle of The Matrix is implausible - that machines use humans for energy. It's describing a perpetual energy machine. Humans get their energy from somewhere (food), they don't create it. That food requires energy too.

So it took 4 hours to make the 1 hour drive home - and I'm a pretty seasoned EV guy (12 years of EV-only life, road trips, etc). I'll never get stranded, but it'll just take longer.
