There will be plenty more data to go through on Monday, but here's something for this weekend! Voters showed up in big numbers Tuesday, and they came ready to rank in the St. Paul and Minneapolis mayoral elections. Over 90% of ballots were still active in the final round of counting in both cities!

We're here at the League of Women Voters Minneapolis's Parks Board forums at Central Library—starting with candidates from Districts 4 & 6!

Several districts have competitive 3+ way races, as does the citywide at-large race in which 3 candidates will be elected using proportional RCV.

Hi Max! Setting aside 2009 when Mayor Rybak ran effectively unopposed, there is a clear reversal of turnout trends after the adoption of RCV in Mpls. Comparing the last competitive pre-RCV election in 2005 and the most recent mayoral election in 2021, there was about an 80% increase in turnout.
