This is new information for me, too. It's wild that the person who invented the most common reading education system in the US says point-blank that it doesn't matter if people don't actually read words, but just guess what they are. He says it's fine to see the word "pony" and read it as "horse."

One feature that would be extremely useful in job search tools is the ability to search by travel time/distance rather than as-the-crow-flies distance. 30 miles that includes 15 miles of water and an international border is very different from 30 miles on a freeway or train.

Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

if there was a national day of cancelling your party membership over healthcare just to put the fear of god into them with some hard numbers, that’s where I think I’m at now
