For #wipwednesday I’m working on another sketch-tober rework!

I grabbed a library from Sketchfab, and redrew Alex from the original sketch (more scruffy and disinterested lol). More process stuff in the alts!
In-progress illustration, showing two sketched characters on top of a screen capture of a 3D library environment from Sketchfab. This is to help place the figures and align perspectives better. One of the figures is a young priest excitedly thumbing through a book, and the other figure is a disinterested woman who scratches her back and looks elsewhere My study of the library screenshot, simplifying complex shapes down into major planes and using a row of books brush to quickly place all the books (brush is from Devon Elle Kurtz). I’ve added a flag from my OC world hanging on a wall, showing the royal family’s heraldry Original sketch from October’s sketch series, showing just the two figures. One is an excited priest thumbing through a book and infodumping, while a disinterested woman grabs his shoulder and says, exasperated, “the sun is setting, Dimitri…”

Every now and then, I pick up a smooth, framed wood plank on which to paint.
It's a completely different feeling than painting on canvas or gesso.
I liken it to sipping smooth red wine instead of sharp bourbon.
