A copy of God, Slavery, and Early Christianity: Divine Possession and Ethics in the Shepherd of Hermes, a book by Chance E. Bonar. It's a nice black hardcover with an image of a bilingual funerary inscription from the first century, engraved in limestone with Latin and Greek.

Adverb expresses his approval for the fully assembled couch by fitting himself into a 90-degree angle along it.

Adverb is still getting used to Dog Jail (which is to say, the big fenced off fake grass dog run). I think they need to put a fake rock in here or something. It's a bit...bare.

Adverb is still suspicious of the new apartment, but he enjoys being able to walk right onto the bed (well, "bed") instead of needing two jumps with a stop between.

The new apartment still lacks almost all furniture, but a refilled tiny bookcase makes it feel more like home.

There was thunder this morning and now Adverb is worried about sky badgers again.
A speckled little dog lies flat on a bathroom mat, big ears perked up and expression woeful. His short legs might let him follow a badger into its den, but sky badgers? He is too short to reach them. Their bellows frighten him. He is a small dog in a big loud world.

There's maintenance happening across the hall, and Adverb would like to share his concerns about this with everyone. At length. And at volume.
