For me Giffen was Legion of Superheroes and Ambush Bug. He was a famous curmedgeon, but his work of that period really got to me

Maybe worth mentioning that there were two follow-ups, Grimjack: Killer Instinct and then a prose short story released last year. I'd put off even looking at those two until you're done with the originals, but now you know they exist.

I have a graphic novel book club for which I always pick January. I'm always tempted to pick Grimjack, but I fear it's too hard for most of the members to find.

Enjoy the journey! I had read most of the series in the late 80s, and then replaced and reread the entire series a few years back. I won't say more now but when you're done it might be fun to talk.
