The patient was taken in for an attempt at reconstructive surgery to fix the extensive trauma to the structural tissue of the frame, with the aid of a custom-made temporary stent to add extra bracing. They're now stable in post-op, and await further evaluation to determine a prognosis.
The frame of the tambourine has extensive cracking and spitting from someone (badly) stapling the head to the frame in an attempt to fix it in the past. The frame has been glued and is clamped against a homemade semicircular brace on the inside to attempt to fix those problems. There are several clamps holding it together while the glue dries. Hoo boy this is way worse than I thought. I managed to get down to some of the original tacks on the side. But at some point in the past, when the head tore, someone tried *stapling it back on* and split the frame so bad around almost the entire circumference that it'll take days to fix it.

Gonna make an attempt to fix up this tambourine that is older than I am, and maybe older than my dad. The jingles on it are so good that it's worth a shot.
