< a masterpiece, & First Kill's opening credits song is pretty great too.

I would say, I cannot believe @netflix.com cancelled #FirstKill, but let's be real - a #queer, #SpeculativeFiction love story with a diverse cast? of course they did.

stop giving us representation then taking it away dammit

< even with my eyes more on the colouring page in front of me than on the screen. Am strongly considering watching all four films immediately, with as much of my attention span as I can muster, to be devastated all over again, properly this time.

< for the generational trauma, strained yet powerful bonds of family, friendship, and love (with beautiful, pure yet messy teen sapphic romance taking centre-stage), struggle against bigotry (societal, familial, internalised) and mob justice, feminist rage, NiceGuysTM - all of which impressed me >

also, my amazing nesting boyf wrote a #poem (even though he maintains he is not a poet) about me, entitled something like "when he is onstage, he shines," about how I am my most beautiful, best self when I perform and... yeah ❤

I may be slightly poorly, but my heart is full of love.

> writing in two languages at the same time - perfectly normal & easy

writing solely in the language of the country I was born in - I feel like an old medieval peasant someone is trying to teach the alphabet to.

< when my sister tried to talk to me in school - presumably because I was already an odd, bullied child, and I had no desire to stand out even further.

3 Lit degrees & 15 years in the UK later, writing in english flows way more easily than italian, but italish remains the mother tongue of my brain.

also - #bilingualism is weird:

translating my own italian poetry into english - piece of cake

translating my own english poetry into italian - slow, clunky, alien-sounding

which is funny considering I spent the first 20yrs of my life in italy, and that I used to pretend I did not speak english >

hello :)

couple quick questions:

1) do you accept submissions in multiple categories (I have some fiction, poetry, art I'd love to submit), and if so would you prefer a single submission email, or one per genre?

2) do you require/welcome content warnings?

3) are you able to pay contributors?

(that's a lie, I've also been applying for grants and submitting poems here and collection manuscripts there, because there's no rest for the independent artist.

recently applied for a pretty life-changing grant & about to apply for a different, even more life-changing grant due at midday tomorrow.
