Germany’s federal state Baden-Württemberg just discovered it had 1440 unfilled teacher positions.
Not because there were not enough teachers.
But because of a software error.
For years, the system—called DIPSY, like a Teletubby—introduced ghost 👻 teachers.

But being able to defend yourself against the bullies of the world must be part of the concept as well... And #Europe needs to step up their game with money but primarily with #progressive maybe even some #exotic and smart ideas... #dualUse

Den Haag mornings bring their surprises.

Green #parakeets are regulars... Exotic, playful but a bit noisy...

But today I spotted a white dove for the first time.
May it stand as a symbol of what the #NATO summit should aim for as a final goal: #peace and #ceasefire.

And then there’s the inverse rollout...

Traditionally, governments formed the base... then it trickled to users.

With LLMs?
It’s users first—governments are way behind in institutionalized use 🇩🇪🇳🇱🇪🇺

From a politics & society view, this is a massive shift...

🧩 The 3 clusters of software.

And the advice for students to get experience in all three...

As a SW-related engineer into AI.
You often end up taming the AI rather than building it.
Which is why I agree SW 1.0 concepts still really matter.

I’m still learning in that space too🤖...

⚡ “AI is the new electricity” — an analogy I also heard first back on Coursera from @andrewyng.bsky.social

For AI, feedback into the grid is built in from the start... which took ages for energy...

And the metering cost evolution will be probably similar ... Also with huge social impact ahead ✂️

A forced break at an open bicycle bridge... which, in my view, is still underused for its green logistics potential... #canals

Many things to follow up on... but it will not be here, that I can already say...

I feel grateful that my bike ride 🚲 to work is relatively peaceful, as you can see...
But there’s also this push from local police to crack down on the “illegal bike” situation... yes, it is a real thing in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

Spilled coffee on a Monday☕... Perfect start into a blue Monday... Who can't relate...😂😭

At least today is a national day... And even more positive details...

It happened outside... and somehow, and it even makes sense in the context of what I did yesterday 😊

First shots of these surprisingly frequent encounters around Den Haag, NL. #Parakeet
Tropical vibes… nice surprise every time, but also a quiet reminder...

I like the book #moralAmbition and the others that I still have pending by @rutgerbregman.com and having time taking these pictures means definitely having some time for the @moralambition.bsky.social school 😉
