Starting my birthday with...academic work of course! Almost done the 1st instalment of a long research project called "Settler Frames," looking at settler identity construction & maintenance through film & media. I'll be releasing this introductory part soon and hoping for constructive feedback :)

The photo can’t possibly do it justice, but props to the artists animating historic buildings in #Sofia for the Lunar Lights Festival. This one last night was mesmerizing - a cross between Renaissance, Gothic and Alien. Incredible!

Giving a research talk at my uni tomorrow, where I'll talk about 3 projects - 2 almost done & 1 beginning. I've been struggling to find a through line, but it came to me today: "identity dyads." Examples from each of the projects: audience/activist, settler/Indigenous & (eco)citizen/consumer.

The nationalists & fascists marched today in #Sofia and it appears one of their messages can be found on the European Parliament building in Sofia. I didn't see them do it, but the march and this happened around the same time today.

Account deleted. We'd been #boycottingairbnb already, but w/ the news of an AirBnB/Trump alliance, I took the step to permanently delete. I'm annoyed that for "reason," clicking on "Other" didn't give me a text field to say why. Anyone have any suggestion on how to let them know (aside from email)?
