Finished the last of the merinoXleicester off on some of my favourite spindles, which I plan to do as a 2-ply. Also finished off the camel/eri silk/merino blend on my favourite Aussie made spindles, destined to become a chain ply.

I encountered a slight hiccup with the commission tail construction in that the internal armature wasn’t strong enough to function correctly when the tail was stuffed. My solution is to build a hollow foam core.

Capelet WIP. The power of blocking - first photo is the garment straight off the needles, second photo it’s been wet blocked and pinned to air dry.

Filled up all my bobbins again! These are all @fossilfibers colourways. The ghibli inspired colourways are going to be chain plyed. Meanwhile, the Soda Pop braids are spun one to be chain plyed for the long colour blocks & the second braid in 3 singles for a fractal spin.

Learned how to mattress stitch seam and pick up edge stitches properly. I also dug these adorable fruit buttons out of my stash to complete the onesie. Just need to block this now.

Commission wip. I’ve sewn up the fur sheath for the tail but I’ve left the bottom seam open so I can more easily sew a pocket along the top seam which will hold the internal movement armature.

Finished processing the Swedish Helsinge lamb fleece. The little clouds are the tog (outer coat) & I’m planning to spin worsted style to maintain the shininess of the fibers. The rolags are the thel (inner coat) which will make for a lovely woolen spin.

I got this limited edition pride yarn from Twisted Ambitions with the intention to knit my kiddo cute clothes. I hyperfixated & now have a nearly completed onesie. The confusing part is the pattern claims 150g for this size yet I’m nowhere near finishing the first ball! 🤨

Last step of processing the swedish helsinge lamb is carding the thel (inner coat) into fluffy rolags. I’m using my extra large hand carders made by Celestial Farms.

WIP of the Duet Capelet by Vanessa Ewing using some handspun. Handspun was the mossy rocks dyejob by JillianEve that was one of my first spins & chain ply on my e-spinner last year. I’m loving how it’s colour pooling, exactly how I envisioned when I spun it.

A couple of days work later & all the blue layers & shading are done. Gotta let this dry before sealing so I can do some final painted details and prep for adding the champagne gold foil.

Commission WIP. These are all the fur pieces for the tail with 3 levels of pre-shaving (none, mid shave, short shave) which will give a natural gradient of fur length down the entire tail whilst still retaining the characters shaggy/fluffy appearance.

Little video of processing the Swedish Helsinge lamb fleece. Helsinge is a heritage breed known for it’s double coat - the inner coat (thel) is super soft and warm, whilst the outer coat (tog) is coarser and shiny.

Completed Bubble Tea Shawl in Hobbii Twister Glitter (colourway ‘mermaids’) cotton yarn. I made some beaded tassels which I feel adds a polished finish to the piece.

Decided to wet block this shawl to make it easier to stretch out the lacey pattern to its fullest potential. Since this is cotton I’m hoping it will dry relatively quickly in the warm weather.

Bought this lovely Swedish Helsinge Lamb fleece from @fossilfibers, who even kindly washed it for me so it could be imported into Australia (don’t mess with biosecurity kids!).

Completed Hazy Sunshine Blanket, pattern by CornwallCrochet on Etsy.

The blanket is constructed using a cotton/acrylic yarn from Wool Warehouse & contains 81 individual granny squares with a cute bobble border.

Didn’t get as many WIP pics of these doilies as I really had to concentrate on the pattern stitches. Despite being difficult, I’m pleased with how they turned out & they’ll look even better when blocked.

A lovely person decided to give me a chance to try out an idea for a semi-poseable, gravity defying tail for their OC. To achieve stability without a foam insert I’m patterning from a miniature form & will scale up. The tip is straight as it’ll have internal rigging for movement.

Completed cable scarf.

Constructed using aran weight handspun, fiber content being merino/pineapple/mulberry silk. Pattern is the Donwell Cable scarf by Lily Steeple.

Working on the house howler paintwork. Since it’s themed after the exploding TARDIS, I decided to lay down all the lighter colours first so I don’t have to battle against the blues in this design for vibrancy. Once the sealant is dry I’ll antique the mouth and start on the blue.

Rito has decided to help with the second last section repeat of the Bubble Tea Shawl. Honestly, my camera is not doing the colour of this cotton yarn justice, it’s much prettier in real life.
