I think it’s down to personal taste. I don’t like excessively sweet cornbread so I always used to make mine from scratch. Then one day I used a package mix, and my husband said “this is the best cornbread you’ve ever made”, so I said sod it, I’m not going to bother in future. I just don’t eat it.
