My favourite Allan Moffat moment that (almost) no one knows about. When HDT went belly up in 1987, Moff brought Brock's VL Commodore racecar, air freighted it to Europe, contested the first ever round of the World Touring Car Championship at Monza, and won.

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn't from "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Dr. Who," or "Transformers."

On the night of 9th and 10th November 1989, at the bridge at Bornhomer Strasse, the wall was opened for the first time since 13th August 1961.

Berliners had come back together again.

In this very spot, on Bornhomer Strasse, the Berlin Wall was first breached in 1989.

One last post: the Berlin Palace, when I last lived here this was a pile of rubble, having been the site of the East German parliament. The rebuild was completed in 2020.

St Hedwig's Cathedral, built by Frederick the Great following Prussia's "acquisition" of significant polished territory, to provide his polish minorities a cathedral in his capital.

Not sure how easy this to make out, but the memorial for the Nazi book burnings that took place in front of Humboldt University in May 1933.

Gendarmenmarkt - my favourite square in Berlin. Here the Concert House is flanked by identical Cathedrals - one was established for the locals and the other was french speaking for the Huguenots who had fled France.

One of the very few remaining sections of the Berlin Wall... though this section is not representative of a typical section, note the lack of a no man's land. Will try and get to one of the other spots on this trip.

Why am I posting a picture of an unremarkable carpark? Well underneath here, Adolf Hitler decided to test whether this skull was bulletproof.*

*I stole this joke from the History Matters YouTube channel - it's my favourite channel so check him out.

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. When I lived in Berlin, nearly 20 years ago now, this memorial was new and it actually gave me a strange sense of hope, that humanity was making progress and learning from its mistakes... (1/2)

The Soviet Memorial in the Tiergarten, which the Soviets bulid very quickly prior to ceeding the area to the British, prior to them arriving in Berlin.
