The overriding moral deficiency of this country is that tens of millions of people do not believe, even in the most diffused and abstract way, that an injury to one is an injury to all.
This regime could end many different ways. Literally the only way I absolutely guarantee it will NOT end is with the pedophile-in-chief accepting responsibility for his own actions and showing contrition. A nuclear bomb in Caracas is infinitely more likely than that.

Chris Hayes is important because he’s the rare example of someone prominent enough in news media to have had a show for years, who also has a normal person’s reaction to how weird and fucked up the hyper-elite subculture is.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

Anyone heard from Scott Turner recently? He is supposedly the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. What important projects is he currently working on? Do they even let him kiss Trump's ass at those bullshit staged Cabinet meetings?

A fun exercise is thinking about how far down the presidential line of succession you'd have to go before you find someone who isn't involved in committing or covering up the most heinous crimes known to man. You have to impeach everyone until you get there

Really wild how all these Harvard scientists and mathematics guys constantly talked about how Jeffrey Epstein was this brilliant, "misunderstood" man and then you read his emails and he's clearly a barely literate lecher, extremely easy to understand

Local media is calling it: Katie Wilson will be the next mayor of Seattle.

Wilson ousts Mayor Bruce Harrell after running as a progressive challenger.

Her win is a west coast companion to Mamdani’s as a statement victory for the left.

Mike Johnson is no William Lenthall 😄
I'd sooner believe that Trump would Charles-the-First himself into Congress in pursuit of the Five Members than that he'd resign.

But to be clear, this is an investigation into extremely serious criminality by major politicians; it deserves to be brought out for its own sake.
look i’m not saying this will happen and i agree it’s unlikely but let’s just indulge for a second

can you imagine if this just somehow put things over the edge and the president resigned because the conspiracy was exposed

In fact, B&N has been expanding rather a bit recently; their sales are up and they've refreshed their stores. And independent books stores have been growing in numbers too! It's been quite a turnaround for brick and mortar bookstores in the last couple of years. I hope it lasts.
I'm more shocked they're still opening new B&Ns.

This really struck me. If Uber were legally acknowledged as an employer, then it would be the biggest employer in the world, with over 9,000,000 employees globally. Think about how many taxes, wages, and protections are being lost b/c of their intransigence.

pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes
