So while I still wish this case would’ve gone to trial, and believe the amount given per work should have been EVEN higher, $1.5 billion in settlement AND the destruction of infringing datasets is still a fantastic start! Congratulations to all those involved as these things are not easy!

The truth is creatives don't actually create for themselves, no matter what we say.
We create because something in the world moved us to pull the threads of creation and weave something beautiful we hope connects us to others.
We create to live. To breathe. To exist. To commune. To share.

The reason left-wing subcultures so often end up being extraordinarily unpleasant and dysfunctional is because they almost always devolve into people competing to perform the best and most stirring ritual recitation of the Consensus Correct Viewpoint on every single issue.

I really wish there were more refined filters and tag options folks could put up. Folks should be able to post damn near anything they want, I just want the option to also not be subjected to it just because I like NSFW content...

What do we expect from the guy who openly detects those in uniform. 'Suckers & losers', it's remarkable what supposed patriots overlooked to vote for thus guy.
He’s providing them with valuable mulching experience though.

If you're in the states, the Better Business Bureau is your friend
Oh my gosh, getting in touch with the BBB WORKED. PayPal is restoring my account and I should have access to my money again.
If you are in the US or deal with the US PayPal and your account is randomly, without warning, and without explanation closed down, file a complaint with the BBB!

I hate that folks' rebuttal to, "I don't recognize this country anymore" w/ snarky, "It's always been this way." Nobody ever suggested America was a paradise, but it was for a long time a place that was getting better for everyone.

Old Soviet joke for today:
A man walks into a newsstand every day, looks around, and leaves.
After a long time of this, the owner says “Can I help you find something?”
“I’m looking for the obituaries.”
“The obituaries are in the back of the newspaper, comrade.”
“Not the one I’m looking for.”

I think one of the things people misunderstand about being anti-ChatGPT and related products is that they are being forced into institutions and other products and services in ways that affect all of our lives whether they work or *not* and we will all have to deal with the consequences

Then Trump actually created them in Florida and El Salvador.

Ya know, I'll be pretty pissed if the Democrat who runs for office isn't running on a literal revenge platform. It 2as a mistake for Obama not to hold members of the Bush Admin responsible for lying us into Iraq, and it was a mistake for Biden to not hold Trump accountable when he could.

As someone who enjoys NSFW content, I follow a lot of artists who also draw stuff that's just not my jam. Do I leave negative comments? No, I'm not the center of the world, I'm not their rich patron, I just scroll on.
I do wish there were better tagging systems, though.
