Had a great time at @knotfestofficial.bsky.social Melbourne yesterday.

I met cool people, saw amazing bands & nobody gave two shits seeing a trans guy in just a binder.

Shout out to Alex (Slaughter to Prevail) and Corey (Slipknot) for both pausing their sets to help people get out of the mosh pit.

I found this part of it (image attached) quite shocking, coming from a reparations campaigner. I thought the excuse of "just following orders" was long discarded...

I really enjoyed Chuck's precious novel, "Camp Damascus", so I'm delighted to have a signed copy of this latest book 😁

I just finished reading "The Left Hand of Darkness" and enjoyed it, but I'm curious about what gender-fluid people make of it. I'll add some tags below to hopefully get feedback 🙂

I've started reading "Enclave" by @clairegcoleman.bsky.social and am loving it so far! 😊

If you're into dystopian thrillers with queer protagonists (eg. "Hell Followed With Us," "Camp Damascus") then it's for you!

Interestingly, we're seeing a similar trend in Australia. New cases among MSM are reducing, but new cases among straight men are increasing.

Maybe it's because there's been a big public health campaign about PreP and PEP aimed at the queer community, but less focus on educating straight people?
A graph from the Western Australia Department of Health, which shows that between 2014 and 2019, new HIV cases in men who have sex with men reduced, but new cases in heterosexual men increased. In 2014, there were approximately 60 new cases of HIV among MSM, and approximately 15 new cases among straight men. In 2019, however, there were less than 20 new cases of HIV among MSM, but close to 30 among straight men. This data relates specifically to Western Australia. I will try to find national data and will post in the replies if I'm able to find that.
