Learning the GAS system in Unreal seems like over engineering for a simple health and damage system, but then when you think about how to do buffet, debuffs and elemental damage this initial setup starts to make sense.

I'm not a horror game person, but this experience was magnificent. Even though I don't understand half of what happened, I still enjoyed it all. Signalis is the kind of game that will stay in your mind and dreams for days.

Still playing around with the new Unreal 5.5 custom pass system, here we have one of the most interesting filters I know. The anisotropic Kuwahara filter. And it will be the last one for now, unless @acerola.gg comes up with some other cool shader.

I came across this post by Froyok about custom bloom. With Unreal 5.5 the addition of custom pass it became much easier. Here is the result, a smoother propagation curve and without the artifacts that the standard bloom produces.

I was working on something else when I got this idea. I watched the Fate anime a long time ago but I remember a lot of the elements, including Excalibur. This was my reinterpretation in a more realistic way, making the blade look like it's out of focus the whole time. youtu.be/fiw0T6uZ9Ok?...

I'm not one to recommend games, especially when they're not finished, but this one from a very small team really captivated me with its aesthetics. It's called "Enigma of Fear", and there's a demo available for download on Steam.
