might’ve been caused by starting on the roof and jumping down? who knows, but this was the only actual jank i dealt with over ~40 hours

easily remedied by running around the corner to reset the battle and the trainer respawned a moment later

FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO FFXI LET’S GOOOO

once i got the login screen, it was basically a race to enter recovery before steam or whatever else needing the GPU pre-loaded in the background and hard-crashed the laptop again. kept losing that lmao

finally got in earlier this morning. made sure it was stable and grabbed lori’s data

another ?? decision from the mfg: no way to enter safe mode outside of the OS. all pre-OS shortcuts disabled besides diagnostics and BIOS, no way to get to safe mode from BIOS either lol

forcing recovery environment looped back to POST, which meant being yelled at again (sorry neighbors at 10pm)

most annoying thing was the manufacturer defaulting to RAID0 on multi-SSD configurations. couldn’t just pull them to get the data, so had to get this going somehow.

biggest issue was being hardwalled at POST (and yelled at) 9/10 times

if i could get in to the OS, died as soon as the GPU was called

"oh yeah i'll just reseat the RAM and go from there"
RAM is soldered in

"okay cool. CMOS reset then"
no CMOS battery. whatever just disconnect the main battery and do a funny power cycle. ah. the cable is tiny with barely enough space for a precision tool to pop it out, let alone a fingernail

not gonna dive deep in to the mess the AH and overall economy has gone through lol

there was a point shortly after asura locking where you could see things being bought out to artificially spike prices up even higher, or others pushed so low to make it not worthwhile for actual players

it’s not nearly as bad as asura (yet), but up until a couple months ago i only had to blist variants of that dennys guy and the very occasional RMT shout, while watching folks clown on attempted merc advertisements

now it’s a steady flow of sortie/ambu/aeonic/JP/ML yells clogging up city channels

yeah, a little too loose on the upper body movement for 1.x if that makes sense
