I am absolute dying at the tone of voice on "Oh, he passed it back to Dvorak..."
Never in a million years would you guess what happens in this video

The Tampa broadcast just called Andrei Vasilevskiy “the hottest goalie” in the league, and it just occurred to me that a goalie being “hot” is kind of a weird thought. Right? That doesn’t really make sense, does it?

I can't remember ever seeing a team maintain this kind of 5v5 shooting/save numbers to start a season (also known as our old friend "PDO"). Maybe it's short memory, and most of this is driven by goaltending, but it's still impressive.

EvolvingWild album of the week #50. It feels fitting.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

The peak of American Indie music, before or after. Kind of like an age curve, now that I’m thinking about it. Really, there’s nothing else like it. A perfect album.

I think Bluesky should verify us. We love Bluesky - it’s great. Hey, @bsky.app, our website (@evolving-hockey.com) has never had a blue check anywhere and I want a blue check. Give us a blue check. C’mon, you can do it. It’s not hard I don’t think

Looking back at this and it really makes me nostalgic for the 2014-2019ish era of hockey twitter. I didn't understand how much fun it was at the time. Rose-colored glasses and everything, but in hindsight it was all so goofy

Luke and I have a combined 6 Oilers players on our respective fantasy teams this season, so we’ve watched a lot of Oilers games. And holy shit are they frustrating to watch. Just really not a net-positive fun time at all lol.

Anyone have the old hockey twitter food alignment chart? I think it was @adamzherman.bsky.social who made it? That right?
We need to do everything we can to encourage posts like this on bluesky. Terrible food opinions from big name sportswriters are genuinely the lifeblood of any social media app
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

As a well-known “food expert”, I’d like to weigh in and on the pie discourse and say that: all pie is pretty good!

No one has ever actually seen where we live, so I can understand why I’m being accused of living in Russia and also doing all this other awesome shit
#Canucks Adam Foote with maybe the quote of the year today.

I know there’s been a lot of mythologizing about the original Four Loko over the years, but let me tell you it’s completely warranted. That shit led to some absolute true insanity for slightly underage drinkers. It was legitimately unsafe lmaoooo
My freshman year of college was the last of the Loko years and they sent us all an email saying effectively “Do NOT drink this, it is TOO crazy, it will make your parties TOO wild.” which had about exact the effect you would expect.
they're adding a fifth loko

Watching the Red Wings. Gonna figure out once and for all if they’re good

How does Morgan Geekie have 16 goals would someone help me understand
November 24, 2025 at 1:15 AM
The Avalanche are absolutely demolishing the rest of the league this season. I kind of don't understand it tbh

Our bowling team has somehow shot up to 3rd place in league (there are only 10 teams, but still) - this was not really our doing as we've bowled slightly above average, our opponents have had awful weeks. But now there's pressure, and I'm scared of that pressure. I think more beer is the answer.

With only 4 movies of the Coen brothers we haven’t seen, decided to watch “The Hudsucker Proxy” last night. What an absolute blast - thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Now left:
Intolerable Cruelty
The Man who wasn’t there
Hail, Caesar!

We had prior obligations tonight and, hold on, the Sabres scored how many goals tonight??

You might think spending time on your smartphone or computer is bad for your brain.

But new research suggests that older adults who spend time engaging with technology may get a cognitive benefit. https://wapo.st/43Gd8RE

"Dark Jazz" still continues to be my favorite musical genre name. There's something quite funny about it that I can't put my finger on, and every time I see it I chuckle. It feels like something that a random Tim & Eric sketch would have coined.

YouTube has determined, based on my viewing history, that Backgammon is the perfect game for someone who watches a lot of Go and Bowling content. I'm not sure what I should do with that information, but I do not enjoy Backgammon.

I think this applies to paywalls in general. Some people seem to think websites just, like, make money somehow… and they complain about ads and/or paywalls. But that’s how they make money!
It looks like “news shouldn’t have paywalls“ discourse is starting again.

-Banner ads don’t cover costs, and you block them
-Native ads are coercive
-Billionaires buying papers backfired
-Event driven funding doesn’t scale
-Newsletters are narrow and lack accountability infrastructure
