Also apparently this school is located at the edge of the world.

The game lacks polish, but I wouldn't say it's bad. I had fun playing it.

Also, apparently Alice can be in two places at the same time.

Anyway, nice game. I like it.

I like how after a while books are just flying out of Marisa's house like it's some sort of geyser. Just how many books did she steal?

Graphics are cute, and music is good. Then again announcing that a Touhou game has good music is like announcing that you found water in the ocean.

Also, I might just be paranoid but I'm not sure if this is human art. There are some odd details, like white-haired girls clothing behaving strangely.

That said, if it was AI, surely they could have made some more interesting poses?

Oh well, just assuming these things isn't nice.

Combat is very simple and kind of boring.

However, the bigger problem is the sheer size of the quest area. Look at this damn map! This is huge!

And all of it is covered in enemies so if you were to fight everything who knows how long it would take.
October 21, 2025 at 11:19 PM
You have a special attack for your sword and gun.

Sword special works fine but isn't interesting.

Gun special doesn't work at all.

Overall, it's a dumpster fire. But it's a dumpster fire that is fun to share with friends.

Speaking of good games...
Bubsy 4D also has a character named Virgil, just like Hell Maiden another one of my favorite games this NextFest.

Maybe the key to having a good game demo is to name one of your main characters after an ancient roman poet.
October 21, 2025 at 10:21 PM
All that said, the game has some interesting visuals and nice music.
October 21, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Also the typesetting is garbage.
October 21, 2025 at 9:44 PM
...at least I think it's the moon.

Also this textbox tripped me up.
It asks "Have you played a Touhou game before" and then "Would you like to enter the tutorial?".

Idunno, probably could have been worded better.
October 21, 2025 at 9:19 PM
There doesn't seem to be a story yet which is a shame. I'd like to know why I am on the moon.
October 21, 2025 at 9:17 PM
But in all honesty, I also really like the dialogue and characters.

This is probably one of my favorite games this NextFest and probably the one I want to go back to the most.

I also also like the slight touhou inspiration in designs and some of the music. Definitely buying this when it releases.

I also think it's funny how there's a character named Virgil in this game. I know it makes sense in context and it's Virgil with an "i", not an "e" but I still think of the DMC character.

Oh well, Virgil is cute so everything is fine.

Like, just look at this guy: He's just your average anime MC, badass military specialist-type.

He's one of the most badass military people in the world despite being a teenager.

He goes to a school where he is surrounded by beautiful ladies who all want his dick.

You know, he's one of those guys.
October 21, 2025 at 8:21 PM
That said, realistic mode got a good chuckle out of me.
October 21, 2025 at 7:10 PM
It's good for a laugh, but I don't think I have much to add to it.

I guess I can say that I think that the enviroment isn't very interesting. But what do you care, you're a coconut!
October 21, 2025 at 7:09 PM
The game has some interesting systems.
Weapon crafting is done with a minecraft grid. So you can build a sword that can slash enemies, or a shield to block them.

Combat has that Super-Hot thing where time only moves when you (or your weapon) do.

The production quality is really good in this one. There's lots of great songs. Although, this is absolutely a game for degenerate weirdos. I feel like "normal" people might find it almost incomprihensible with all the otaku and gen Z slang thrown around.
October 21, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Although, from what I remember the game couldn't seem to remember what I had entered in the settings.

Like I said, it's a bit scuffed.

I'm equal to Antz Extreme Racing (IGN) apparently.

Started Silksong.

Right away it feels similar but also different. The increased damage is noticable but it seems to be balanced by better healing.

So far it's not too difficult but I've heard this game gets pretty brutal. Oh well, no need to rush. I'm just gonna take it at my own pace.
September 16, 2025 at 12:19 PM
Played and completed Kirby's Forgotten Land expansion.

Really, it's just a couple of extra levels and fights. That said, it is pretty good but then again Kirby games are basically always at least good and Forgotten Land was no exception.

I've always wanted a Mega Raichu, and now we're getting two of them. But... it feels a bit lacking.

I guess I like X more than Y but it still feels like they're both sort of shackled by Raichu being tied to Pikachu.

Raichu is objectively cooler than Pikachu and I wish it could stand on its own.
September 13, 2025 at 9:13 PM
I'm kind of curious how the bike is going to work in Prime 4.

My guess is that it's gonna be how we travel between different zones instead of having elevators or other transporters.

Oh well, we won't know until it releases.
September 13, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Beat Hollow Knight and the final boss.

Fantastic game, can't wait for the sequel.

...what's that? It's already out? Wow. That was fast. 🙃

In all seriousness, I'm definitely going to play Silksong but I want some sort of palate cleanser first before I dive into another metroidvania.
