2026 Democratic Candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine |
Chaplain for the DC Guard on January 6th | Winning with Radical Empathy and Courageous Reform
Ditto. I did an initial looked on the website and didn’t mention candidates so I moved on.

Apparently though, it’s fully detailed in the handbook. Though I could only find 2024.

Apparently it’s a $200 fine. I had no idea that this was a requirement until I saw this article and looked up the senate ethics rule for myself.

I’m doing all this by myself. I would think Platner has a compliance officer. 🤷‍♂️

Personally, I’d work to pass protections for people to run for office and have their job guaranteed, the same way the reserve and national guard does for deployments.

And then some sort of public funding for salary and healthcare.

The biggest challenge we have is the Citizens United is a First Amendment argument with donations as a form of speech.

We’re unlikely to withstand any sort of judicial scrutiny because of that.

Maine’s Clean Elections Law and some other initiatives are really are best hope practically

You’re not alone. Not by a long shot.

I know more than a few of us were done with the, “Here’s why I voted the way I did, and everyone else is stupid” blog emails

Steadily. Slowly. Doing the work each day of getting out there. Granted there’s A LOT more land to cover

Fair.

Capitalism has become corrupted by things like immortal corporations that never die and devour everything in their sight.

That hurts everyone and isn’t at all how the free markets were supposed to work.

I appreciate you recognizing the nuance.

Better and more affordable healthcare in America requires a lot of work and initiatives. For example

Physician and nursing education stipends

Salaries

Rural access programs

Cost management of chronic illnesses.

To be fair, he’s friends with Jared. I get it.

They’re both from Lewiston and worked in Congress at the same time. Jared as a Rep, and Jordan as a Chief of Staff for Katie Porter.

She’s done in Maine, if we can get a primary candidate who has cross party appeal.

I think I mentioned this, yesterday, but talking to Collins’ voters in the county, they’re ready for a change, just not Mills or Platner. 🤷‍♂️.

I want to know I did everything I could to give my kids the best future I could possibly give them.

With my skills and experiences, that means this, or at least trying to offer people a real choice of a non politician type.

You don’t like the answer. That’s fine.

It’s a benefit of America.

I served with the DC Guard on January 6th, and had to leave my 8 month pregnant wife for 6 months because the President couldn’t figure out he lost an election.

I’m a father. I’ve been through a lot of different experiences from wildfires in California to Korea.

Why am I running for political office?

Having worked with law, policy, and strategy in DC at the Pentagon and National Guard Bureau, it was shocking to see how many people end up where they do not because they’re the smartest, most dedicated, or caring, but because there was no one else.

The officer trope is the last thing anyone would say about me from the Army.

Trying to take into account something people can read a million times a million different ways is definitely a challenge.

If you’re in Maine, happy to chat over coffee, and have a real conversation.

The single post social media version:

I have a 5 year old, a 4 year old and a 1 year old.

I’m done watching people suffer and waiting for politicians to build a world where:

Workers are paid fairly, every child has a world class education, and we take care of our elderly with dignity.
