The whole movie is about the dangers of rampant consumption/consumerism distorting the true meaning of Christmas. A morality tale, like many Christmas movies.

TNG and DS9 were both syndicated shows. As long as tv stations were buying it, they kept making it.

These events are great for more rural areas. My mother posts pictures of the trunk or treat from our reserve and I always enjoy them and wish they were part of my childhood. Sprawl sucks but there is a place for these events.
