There is a Greek dialect that's still used in Southern Italy - it's interesting how long Greek survived there as a spoken language:
The Greek heritage of Calabria isn't only about past history, cultural heritage, or archaeology. There is still a Calabrian Greek dialect called "Grecanico" or "Grico" spoken by an ever dwindling number of speakers. Learn more about it and its preservation here:

It's been so long that I'd forgotten how the classical world is ultra-competitive — even though it pretends it's not. You have to have at least some domineering qualities in order to make it there.
Classical music has a horrific problem with excusing misconduct by ‘genius artists.’ When these people work for the church, that attitude has to stop. Yes, even if your gigabucks church has to hire a less-than-world-class musician to find one with morals.

One of the first three astronauts to fly to and orbit the Moon in Apollo 8. Then he survived Apollo 13. . Prior, he flew on two Gemini missions (7 & 12).
He was 97.
☝️He played himself in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) and the captain of the USS Iwo Jima in Apollo 13 (1995).

After watching @dljohnston.bsky.social's recent video with Redeemed Zoomer, I am hostile to RZ's presentation of "Reconquista". Even if there are points I agree with RZ on, it is abundantly clear he prefers an adolescent-style black-and-white thinking which approaches fundie/trad.
