Not a half-baked gesture at all. Tidal has much better quality and pays artists four times as much as Spotify.
I just switched from Spotify to Tidal as a half-baked ethical gesture and maybe this is some sort of aural placebo effect but the difference in sound quality is startling, as though Spotify plays everything through a sock. Or am I just imagining this

This is especially rich given that Wiley's "AI Guidelines for Researchers" makes a point of urging authors to "protect your content while using AI". What they mean is: "make sure no other AI company gets hold of your IP, because then we can't use it ourselves."

Naming DEAD cognition helps us see how claims that LLMs are “human-like” fall short. LLMs (or any “AI” model, for that matter) can only ever simulate DEAD cognition, because they don’t have human bodies, experiences or relationships. 9/
