Thoroughly had the shit scared out of me by both the Ontario and Quebec emergency system tests. Although there is no emergency, one of the tests almost created one when I narrowly missed dropping a pot of boiling water on myself due to being startled.

Hey cyclists and drivers in Ottawa. If it is after 7pm, you definitely need your lights on. Yes, it feels like summer. But it is still dark. It is about being seen, not just about being able to see.

If your dog barks at everything all the time, don't take it camping with you.

Why did I book a mammogram and dentist appointment in the same week? 😞

Bye @octranspo.com Getting rid of the youth pass was the last straw. We've purchased the pass for our kids since we moved to Ottawa in 2018. The current suggestions for transit to my daughter's school involve 24-26 minutes of walking, when she can just walk the whole way in 30 minutes.

Teach your children that you don't yell "help, help, help" over and over at a lake if no one is in distress, FFS.

Where is the age cut-off between: Using punctuation makes you sound rude vs. not using punctuation makes you sound illiterate?

Canada isn’t broken. But an electoral system that lets someone spend over $2 million for a do-over after neglecting his constituents? That’s what’s broken.

We deserve better. This is #OurHomeOurRiding in #BattleRiverCrowfoot

Flashing lights of what looks like at least 2 emergency vehicles on the bike bath near the Commanda bridge. I really hope there wasn't another drowning. ☹️ #ottawa

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning
Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

In the same way that some people have resting bitch face, I think Trudeau has resting smirk face.

When you shut down a supervised consumption site, you just end up with an unsupervised consumption site in its place. That's not a safer alternative for anyone.

At least he put a woman in the role of Jobs and Families (his last cabinet got rid of the Minister of Women and Gender Equality and put it under Jobs and Families with a man as minister).

Wow. Finance and Revenue under one Minister. That is a big job.

The Conservatives couldn't even find real old white men to talk about how they are voting Conservative. They had to pay actors $1000 to fake it. #elxn45 #cdnpoli

Have the Conservatives still not released their platform?

Saw two out of place things in Hintonburg today: A Conservative lawn sign and a person in a Leafs jersey.

It's hard to explain to people outside this fight that Texas is currently trying to ban kids from using public libraries... but they are; it's passed out of committee, and it's going to a floor vote.

🚨If you know ANYONE in Texas it's time for them to call their reps and demand NO ON HB3225🚨
Bad. Despite the voucher debate, the Tx State Affairs committee met and voted FOR HB3225. This bill would require public libraries to have age restrictions and cordone off parts of the library as inaccessible to teens. @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social @penamerica.bsky.social @everylibrary.bsky.social
