Interesting that Carlson asks "why am I required" to hate Assad. But nobody is "requiring" him. it's just that normal people, with what used to be normal American/Christian moral values, find torture and mass murder repugnant. He does not. And he also does not want to feel bad about that.

The Lebanese thing is so crazy. For those of you who don't know. In 1976 the Assad regime occupied large parts of Lebanon until 2005. Throughout the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, Lebanese who protested the occupation disappeared. Many assumed they were dead, now they are found alive in Assad's torture prison

The rebels just captured an Assad forces intelligence officer who throughout previous years proudly filmed and posted videos of himself torturing and executing people. The fact that they didn't just shoot him on the spot indicates a lot of restraint. I wonder if they will actually do trials.
