I think there's a discussion to be had about how specific personalities warp the discourse around themselves, and in so doing they obscure the actual issues that should be the heart of the conversation. They also assume people they dislike who are discussing the issues are doing the same thing.
Thinking about this again, no particular reason, absolutely nothing's happened in the last day or two on here that would bring this to mind again. 🙃

Thinking about this again, no particular reason, absolutely nothing's happened in the last day or two on here that would bring this to mind again. 🙃
Finally got back to this, and it took me several more tries because I didn't realize that killing the deluxe Arch-Vile opens a door (which leads to the exit) with two more regular Arch-Viles, and so I died two more times after I'd beaten the rest of the fight.
Made it through MAP19 and most of MAP20 with relatively little trouble, but the final fight of the latter is brutal and I need to stop for a while before I try and tackle it again.
Picked back up where I last saved partway through MAP18, and this map has some absolutely evil Arch-Vile placements. Also two separate fights where a Revenant teleports in behind you to fuck up your day while you're trying to deal with an Arch-Vile.

People aren't really paying attention here, but the wipeout of the GOP in VA is turning out to be pretty complete.
Spanberger ended up winning Montgomery by 17%, Harris won the county by 2.5%
She got 90%(!) of Harris’ vote total there, and received more raw votes than Harris (by a ton) in all of the Virginia Tech precincts

Got through MAP03 pretty easily, and while MAP04 is a step up in difficulty I still managed to survive, though I probably used too many rockets in the final fight against a dozen or so Hell Knights (plus a Mancubus, but he's not much of a threat).
I saw that the final release version of Necromantic Thirst is up on the /idgames archive and I still had RC2, so I downloaded it and played partway into MAP03. On UV. When I first attempted this WAD even MAP01 kicked my ass on UV, but I fared much better now that I know what I'm up against.
