Last night in the studio. The plant pot is for a Christmas gift (getting close to the wire to have it done in time) and the mug bodies were a (successful, I think) attempt to use up the scraps left over from my nerikomi experiment. They are destined to be mugs.

This is why it's important to have Arts/Humanities courses AND STEM courses. It all fits together, they compliment each other.

There's no such thing as useless education.
Adding alt text to this because this is fucking amazing and everyone deserves to read it.

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

With all of the talk about Lansdowne 2.0, and improving transit access to the location, this is the perfect opportunity to get fully dedicated 24/7 bus lanes, not just during "peak" hours.

Delays for buses are almost constant throughout the day.

I'm not saying I want to spend more, far from that.

But, y'know, on the other hand, if I did see the true cost of hydro on my bill, I would be feeling an incentive toward household solar, or whatever, that I'm not feeling in the present case.

Really, really smart catch here from the Star's Marco Chown Oved.

Is it a good idea for Ontario to be subsidizing household electricity to the tune of ~$8 billion a year?

That's a lot of spending to hide the true cost of our hydro bills.

Ontario nearly doubles household electricity rebates to cover surging hydro prices
While the net result on residential hydro bills is minimal, the increase in the rebate will cost taxpayers an estimated $2 billion more per year — meaning power subsidies will

In short, the problem here is not that Signal ‘chose’ to run on AWS. The problem is the concentration of power in the infrastructure space that means there isn’t really another choice: the entire stack, practically speaking, is owned by 3-4 players. 11/

I head again today from Ottawa By-law, they're no longer accepting reports for illegal driveway expansions or hardscaping or front yard parking. Apparently there are only 4 officers for these zoning issues and there are far too many reports than they can keep up with. They need more resources.

Today was kiddo's 5th birthday so I made a cake and brought it to the park because she said she wanted to invite her whole class. We wore fairy wings and decorated wands and they all ran around and had a good time. I am exhausted now though 😅
