The ACIP decision to discontinue the recommendation for a universal hepatitis B birth dose vaccine will cause harm.

As the federal government continues to fail children's health, families can rely on our nation's physicians to continue to put children's health first.

You can't trust ACIP vaccine recommendations, a committee that has abandoned evidence in favor of conspiracies. Truly a sad time in the history of human health. I fully agree with this message from reputable medical advocacy organizations. www.idsociety.org/news--public...

Senator Bill Cassidy is a hepatologist, he confirmed a health secretary who is overseeing the come back of hepatitis B related cirrhosis and liver cancer. That legacy is a choice.

First of all, shoutout to the Mexican investigators who looked at their data and found that PCV vaccination decreased childhood meningitis. Second of all, I hate the non-vaccine serotypes.

Lastly, vaccinate yourselves and your kids (particularly timely today) if eligible

Decades of rigorous and scientifically sound research have proven that vaccines do not cause autism. CDC’s decision to change language on its website reversing that finding is reckless & harmful.

Penicillin? I must say I am shocked. But I like the idea of being left alone until actually useful

I’ll often see a meme post with “all-resistant” bacteria but they often include things we wouldn’t use for that organism anyway or not show the newer agents we use, so I’m less impressed…

Not this one. This is truly stuff of ID nightmares. Even ceftaz-avi? And alluding to other salvage agents? Damn
It is scary how frequently we encounter these extremely multi-drug resistant gram(-) organisms in routine clinical practice these days. This Providencia isolate is resistant to everything we tested it against (including salvage drugs not shown)
Antimicrobial resistance is a very real threat.

I’m trying to think of where this fits in for NTM treatment. There’s such variability in susceptibility patterns and the species that I find itodd they’re all being lumped together.

I guess it’s good that you can often treat through AEs overall. Otherwise 🤷‍♂️

I was checking on some emails, and I found out that HCV core antigen has good specificity and sensitivity for acute/recent HCV infection?

Neat, except this might the start of the HCV serology confusing trainees as much as HBV, a pain I know too well

The US is on track to lose its measles elimination status this year or early next year.
The current public health leadership seems intent to ignore the outbreak until more children die avoidable deaths.
The vaccine is the most effective way to end the outbreak.
