Dems need to keep fighting, but not by shaking canes. The visual is awful

They need to win back young people, it’s going to take a change in HOW and WHAT you message.

Unbelievable news.

Pancreatic is one of the deadliest cancers.

New paper shows personalized mRNA vaccines can induce durable T cells that attack pancreatic cancer, with 75% of patients cancer free at three years—far, far better than standard of care.

What I did this week:
1. Tumble out of bed
2. Stumble to the kitchen
3. Pour myself a cup of ambition
4. Yawning, stretching
5. Trying to come to life

For some reason I felt like re-reading Thomas Paine today:

“For as in absolute governments the King is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king; and there ought to be no other.” (Common Sense, 1776)

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame.

The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight.

It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

I’m not sure what’s worse: the content of this post, the fact that it’s from the official White House account, or the fact that the people who wrote it clearly think it’s hilarious.

This NYT sleight-of-hand is part of why Trump’s insane racism flourishes. The implication is that it’s possible to “attack diversity” WITHOUT a “racist undercurrent.”

And it “surfaces” - as though Trump hasn’t been a rabid and explicit racist for years, and this is some new tone.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Among other things, Trump’s latest unconstitutional move will pause research on cures for childhood cancer, close homeless shelters, halt food assistance, reduce safety from domestic violence, and shut down suicide hotlines.

People will die.

Is this what you “price of eggs” voters wanted?

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Stop letting unfunny men tell you there’s something wrong with you for not getting their “jokes”. Stop fake laughing. Let their reality reflect the truth of how fundamentally they misunderstand humor. Neuter their ability to use “it was a joke” for emotional cover. Make them see nobody laugh.

There is a reason TikTok is so good at figuring out what you want to see, and why it’s better than everything else: it’s a weapon, and the best weapon is one you don’t know exists, or worse, one you think you can’t live without

Would the GOP find it disqualifying if the headline were “Gaetz responsible for DEI hires”?
Breaking News: Federal investigators established a trail of payments from Matt Gaetz to women, including some who testified he hired them for sex, according to a document obtained by The New York Times and a lawyer representing some of the women.

real reassuring to see this country run by a cohort of sexual abusers who are hellbent on "protecting women" by stopping women from using the bathroom
it's Trans Day of Remembrance and Nancy Mace and Mike Johnson are threatening the first out trans person in Congress—plus any trans person using Capitol buildings—over using the bathroom. speaking of pieces of shit:

my latest @teenvogue.bsky.social on the scapegoating and abandoning of trans people
Republicans Are Obsessed With Trans People and Where They Pee
While some Democrats refuse to touch trans issues with a ten-foot pole so as to evade the accusation of being obsessed with “identity politics,” Republicans are openly obsessing over trans people.

More rapists in power. Are we MAGA-ing yet?
A Trump supporting, anti-trans, anti-gay Republican was elected commissioner of the county where I grew up. He won despite being in jail on election night for a sexual assault in Vegas.

It’s now come out that the woman he assaulted was his daughter.

I’m just going to say it: the INDems need to clean house. The fact that the Senate Dems re-elected Greg Taylor after these harassment complaints is inexcusable. Time to put women in charge.
