Meh… it was fine. Except for the Act 2 Thriller number which was awesome. (Fun fact: the husband has performed in multiple Thrill the World events.)

Montserrat was gorgeous. Come for the monastery, stay for the mountains.

Disembarkation day is always rough, but spending it touring Barcelona was a good choice. Such a pretty city. And also had my first-ever proper paella.🥘

Hate olives but love olive oil, so today in Majorca we toured an olive farm and had an olive oil tasting. And then to the Cathedral, which had gorgeous stained glass but a shocking lack of penises.

Did not try ecstasy in Ibiza. Did wander around the old walled city/castle of Dalt Vila and have some spectacular pistachio and mascarpone gelato.

Only one sea day on this cruise so it was jam-packed with all of the activities. Did a behind the scenes tour, won $80 at bingo, lounged in the thermal spa, and had my first “Dine with the Officers” experience.

Highlights of our day in Naples were exploring Pompeii (including the red light district with its directional penises and frescos of the ‘menu of services’) and then climbing the source of its destruction, Mt Vesuvius.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and nor can it be toured in a day. So we only saw the Vatican Museum and St Peter’s Basilica. So many beautiful ceilings, so many statues, so many people.

Today was *supposed* to be spent touring a Tuscan sheep farm and the village of sparkling vampires (Volterra). But it was cancelled due to ‘lack of interest (by anyone who isn’t a nerd)’… so instead we wandered Livorno, seeing its Cattedrale, Mercato Centrale, and canals.

Spent the day in Florence and Pisa. Highlights were lots of sexy statue poses and some gorgeous (if occasionally leaning) architecture.

Cannes was rainy but lovely. Highlights were wandering the narrow and winding cobblestone streets and knocking a second Notre-Dame off my list.

Embarkation day went very smoothly. Highlights included a delicious dinner in the Mediterranean specialty restaurant and @donnamatrix.bsky.social winning the spa raffle.

A looooong travel day but we made it (eventually) to Barcelona. The highlight was definitely seeing the Northern Lights as we flew over northeast Canada en route to Zurich.

It’s been two hours, so I don’t know if this is what I smelled earlier, but big plume of smoke coming from East Van.
