BIPOC: we’ve been paying the price for white neoliberals to follow their moral compass since the birth of this country.

Do remember: where their values are a revolving door, ours are constant and infallible. Another generation of our children will know suffering, and we will never forget it.

Crossing the border, this time, will be the largest symbolic act I can do.

It should state the obvious: I don’t side with a bully just because he’s twice my size. I stand with the dissenter, the accuser, the “what the fuck did you say?” And those who lock eyes with their oppressor and never flinch.

I’m your son, Vancouver. I know I ran far, and thought my fairy tale belonged in foreign lands because of my lofty desires.

Now I’ve come to realize that my fairy tale IS you. I’ve seen the world and voluntarily chose you for me and my family.

This is my final swan song. A journey that began January 2017 finally ends on March 21st, 2025.

Not even by coincidence, but that’s my mother’s birthday- this immigration case was blessed by my ancestors themselves.

For the first time in 8 years: I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. #home

I moved mountains for you, I fought entire countries for you, I navigated COVID-19 for you.

It’s a flag to some, but to me: it’s my family. My friends. My childhood. My past, and the future of my family.
