A few photos of Spokane’s Navigation Center, relaunched on Sept. 25, which is part of the city’s new homelessness plan providing a centralized hub to connect people to service providers.

While there, I met Robert and his three-legged dog Atlas.

Sarah (Clark) Doxey. Total badass.

This photo is from 2016, taken on our family’s first trip to the Oregon coast. She was watching our children play when I took this photo.

Tell your loved ones how much you love them every day.

Idaho banned abortion. Three years later, minors & seniors struggle to get routine care.

It's not just the actors who are dedicated to their craft at Silverwood.

Pit cook supervisor Will Kadrmas arrives hours before the park opens every day to chop wood and get the fire pit ready for the day's meat selections.

Among this year's group of actors is Abby Sexton, a 29-year-old actor originally from Missouri. Three weeks after auditioning virtually, Sexton found herself on her way from her recent home in Pennsylvania to Idaho just in time for the first round of rehearsals in early April.

One of the detail-oriented experiences that greets visitors the moment they walk into the park is the steam engine train. With the addition of stunts and pyrotechnics, the now iconic 30-minute train ride around the park has evolved into a full-fledged theater show with professional actors.

For this week’s @inlander.com cover story, I spent a day at Silverwood to meet and photograph the folks who make it run and the folks who get to enjoy the fruits of that labor.

I even managed to write a few words as well….

This one was a blast - The two pilots, who make up the Felts Field Sky Queens, are competing from June 17 to 20 in the Air Race Classic, an all-female transcontinental air race w/ nearly 100-year-old roots.
