Anyone know what they're doing to/on Olson's Island (the former Heron Rookery)? Photos are from earlier this morning.

St. Paul's fire department wants people to call their general number, but nobody answers and there is no voicemail.

Yesterday the Housing & Redevelopment Authority of Duluth filed 11 evictions.
Same HRA whose director advocated against Duluth's new Repair & Deduct law (that passed with more than 2/3rd's of the vote)—calling it "a dangerous experiment," apparently due to her own biases & stereotypes about renters.

Apparently only homeowners are impacted by property taxes. Maybe someone at the @startribune.com wants to double-check that, please?

TC Habitat spent $1,229,671 through 6/30/25 on "Marketing Services and Materials" according to their FY 2025 Unaudited Financials—and throwing renters under the bus is what they came up with.

Today I saw a billboard for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity's ad campaign "Goodbye Rental. Hello, Home." Also on their website: home.tchabitat.org

Apparently if you rent your home, it's not actually a "home" in the eyes of TC Habitat. Absolutely disgusting framing coming from a housing nonprofit.

This opinion that additional tenant rights are "a dangerous experiment" that could "harm tenants" is such a commonly repeated yet disgusting and patronizing attitude.

CM LaTrisha Vetaw's answer to this question should disqualify her from public service. She is an embarrassment.

How the fuck does a current City Council member either not have access to the information needed, or not have adequate critical thinking skills to provide an answer to this question?

So thankful the Strib has a housing beat reporter—and my goodness, look how adept they are at writing articles real people can relate to.

I mean, it's not like we have multiple crises harmfully impacting our state's rental market right now.

Alpha News has no competitors because they are not a serious outlet for journalism. So based on the headline, this column is Andy making the case for them deserving respect from absolutely nobody, right?
