The sudden(-ish) lack of LGBTQIA-centered merch in the Kennedy Center gift shop is depressing, albeit not surprising - and conspicuous to anyone who's been and window shopped a couple times. This is my first visit since Trump took over.

If you’re not in DC: get to learn about all the stuff that goes on here that’s not directly federal related (though certainly inflicted a lot)
When DCist was shut down, it had 70,000+ subscribers.
The 51st is proud to carry forward the spirit with which DCist served our city.

But we can’t stop thinking about how most of those subscribers — our neighbors and friends — are just no longer receiving the kind of local news they signed up for.
