Yes... yesss!!

YouTube already spoiled me on the identity of a secret boss. :( Just on my main page recommendations. That algorithm'll kill ya, man. No videos for me til I crush this thing.

I have a real gamer mentality when it comes to over the counter medication. Everything is marketed as “ultimate strength” or “maxxx relief” and I’m like - man I just have a little cough. Can I have regular relief? I’m not using my megalixir til I see a final form.

Something really weird happens in season 3. Almost every episode through the Phoenix Saga is good, and almost every episode after (at least that I've seen so far) is not. I think maybe the introduction of sci fi elements shifts the show into being more plot-based instead of character-based. No bueno
I started rewatching the X-Men cartoon to prep for '97 a couple days ago & I'm enjoying it way more than I even remember. Every character has such a strong POV. Stakes are big, losses frequent. Sharp dialogue. The prejudice angle doesn't pull punches. I can't believe this aired alongside Eek the Cat

A frame of subliminal messaging in Disney+’s upload of the X-Men cartoon? Or is this superliminal? Or was the guy with final edit just sleepin?

Into the second season now - I'm finding myself genuinely uneasy at the season's new threat, the Friends of Humanity, a domestic hate group that uses violence and propaganda to terrorize mutants and their allies. I'm, like, pre-mad at all the chuds who are going to say X-Men '97 is "too woke now"

I was practicing songs for this week's Mortified show in my apartment and, shorly after, my neighbor started blasting Poison from his stereo. Did I annoy him, or did I INSPIRE him with rock & roll??

This funded and then someone canceled yesterday and knocked it $7 below goal, lol. If anyone feels like throwing in for a $10 PDF or $18 printed copy, that'd be sweet. Just a few days left here!
Reminder: I've got a project up on Kickstarter for Zine Quest right now that really fits my brand of "TTRPG supplement that also doubles as media analysis," lol. I think it's pretty neat & we're sooo close to funding. It's GRAPES OF WRATH meets FINAL FANTASY baby

Hey, it's Zine Quest over on Kickstarter! This year, I turned the Grapes of Wrath into the JRPG I always knew it could be using the Fabula Ultima TTRPG. And peep that sweet cover from @jabronisean.bsky.social!

My friend just asked me if Taylor Swift was dating Jack Antonoff from Bleachers. Should I be jealous of his ability to separate art from artist so much that he doesn't know, or should I be concerned that his body has been commandeered by pod people?

Funded yesterday but still SO BACKABLE for the next week! For all my weird little zines, I set a personal goal of at least 30 copies in folks' hands. I think we can do it!

Wow, so the next backer (or two) will put this over, AND there's only one "Route 66 edition" left. What that is: In 2020 I traveled Route 66 and took notes on how it could make a sick TTRPG adventure. I'm writing up those notes (translated for Fabula Ultima) for 6 special copies of DUSTLAND SAGA.

Here's some heresy: the 90s is one of my least fav decades for pop music in part because, w/ the prominence of CDs, everyone went to town on making ridiculously long records. Playing Genesis' We Can't Dance right now - 71 minutes. Bat Out of Hell 2 - 76 minutes! Lunacy. 44 minutes with sides or gtfo

Jason Isbell has done as foretold. This looks like a pretty great show honestly. I bet Shania Twain crushes "Bed of Roses." And I love that Bruce gets to tribute Bon Jovi with one of his own songs.
February 3, 2024 at 2:06 PM
Looking at this lineup, actually, Jason Isbell has to do Wanted Dead or Alive. He just has to.
What Bon Jovi song do we think Bruce is performing tonight? I'm afraid it will be something obvious like "Wanted Dead or Alive," but I'd really like it to be something more in Springsteen's style. How sick would it be if him and Roy Bittan did Runaway? (Roy plays keys on the original track)

Not a super great day on the old Kickstarter yesterday. Did I out-niche myself this time? Is Zine Quest not what it used to be? Who knows! Goal is still absolutely reachable, but if folks were thinking about backing, doing that sooner rather than later would be appreciated to get some momentum
