I'm a trans health researcher, writer, dog owner, and (not particularly good) artist in a variety of media. I talk about trans and reproductive rights, ttrpgs, dogs, pottery, and politics. My statements/opinions are mine - not those of any of my employers

One other thing I wanted to say is that, unless what I write is about trans issues, few people end up reading it. So shares and quote posts are very appreciated.
For my newsletter, I wrote about how wantonly illegal and unconstitutional ICE is, how it must come to a stop now, how it's up to all of us to stop it, and how we will need to develop a way so the federal government can never do this to us again.

For f***s sake people, a case study of a condition in a minoritized population that occurs in the majority population does not indicate increased risk! It just indicates that the condition has occurred in a person who happens to be in that population. Without a denominator we know nothing!!!!

Universities need to stop making "deals" with the current administration. They're not going to be saved by them. They're just accelerating their own destruction. That Brown agreement is horrific

So disappointing
He blames this moral panic on “politicians in Washington trying to use this as a political pawn,” which is exactly right, but then says that transphobic parents have legitimate concerns about “fairness in sports.” That’s just not true, and Dems must stop validating this fascist campaign.
Pete Buttigieg weighs in on ‘fairness’ of transgender kids playing girls’ sports
He said he rejected blanket policies about trans participation in sports.

“The reception was mostly warm besides an occasional detractor, including a man who pulled Cuomo in for a handshake, took out his phone for a selfie, and as the former three-term governor of New York smiled for the camera, told him, ‘I can’t wait to watch you lose again.’”

This is infuriating.

"the dangerous left is censoring you," they said.

Doing a literature review and frustrated that no one in a particular area has asked a specific question... and then realizing that you are one of the most published people in that area and so you are frustrated at yourself. Do better, self!

Was I just looking for an excuse to cite @juliaserano.bsky.social 's critique of autogynephilia or did I actually need that paragraph in my paper revision? Who can say!

It's not just bad in the US. It's terrifying in the UK.
Incontrovertible evidence, now, of *police* investigating families supporting their kids with gender affirming healthcare in the UK. For trying to do the best for your child, following best practice in most of the world, here you get a visit from the police.

Thank you, Wes Streeting.

Are random hyphens throughout a text a sign that a manuscript is generated by AI? If not, what the heck is going on in this article I’m trying to review.

This story needs to be flogged, amplified, lifted.

Trans people and immigrants are the bogeymen that allow the right to implement their fascist policies.

No one is hurt by allowing trans people to access gender affirming healthcare. But denying trans people healthcare hurts more than just trans people (although hurting “just trans people” is more than bad enough.) I will never understand why people have so much energy for hate and so little for help

Currently listening to the @oxventure.bsky.social early back catalog while walking the dog, and I feel like I should apologize to everyone who lives near our route for the unhinged laughter way too early in the morning. Excellent distraction from reality. Two thumbs up.

If you are applying for a job that has a clear skills/interest ask, it's really helpful to have either a tailored cover letter or a resume that makes it quite clear that you've been working/interested in the specific area.
