I love the contrast that can be achieved through working with direct sunlight. The way it interacts with human skin is stunning, capturing the reflective and detailed nature of our largest organ. This photo of Rose evaded me for months but it is one of my favourite nude portraits of her.

There are positives and negatives to both the summer and winter solstice. I love the long, light days of summer and the warmth but winter provides a different light, free from the intense, damaging UV rays that radiate and harm our skin.

Her other arm rests by her side, mostly obscured from view. Her legs are straight but due to her side on position her front leg is fully visible while the furthest is mostly obscured but providing stability by a slight positioning to her rear, making the heel visible. Clear blue sky which is darkened by the black and white edit contrasts the light reflected by her skin as she stands atop a rocky platform beneath her feet. Shadowy trees in the background break up the lighter sky to the left of frame and along the lower 3rd of the frame. The frame is in portrait orientation and the woman fills the full height of the frame, but only occupies the middle most left hand quarter of the horizontal frame.

Memories of two years ago with Kaysea. This image was a hidden gem! I left it predominantly natural, with minimal editing.

Instability in the world is something none of us needs. End the invasion of Ukraine and the Genocide of Palestine.

These stains on humanity can only bring us all down.

At f/1.4 I missed the focus on a bunch of photos. I can only imagine how much nicer it could have been but this moment is my fave of a bad bunch. It could be more out of focus and still be alright 😂

I have created a few nude portraits that have influenced my passion for nude portrait photography. Some would argue that a subject must be looking down the lens at the viewer, I disagree!

As a photographer, I’m not a fan of this feature and the inability to disable the direct downloading of images by other people. It was present on twitter and remains here. It is a deterrent to posting photography.
