Lindsay Shepherd landed on her feet after being fired from the BC Conservatives for residential school denialism. The Frontier Centre for Public Policy just announced she's their new director of communications.

Most Hamiltonians do not want AM-Dofasco to shut down or reduce operations - they want a good neighbour who contributes to the local economy, provides good jobs, and doesn't pollute our air. We know it's not an either-or situation - we can do it here in Canada.

On it's surface, neoliberal arguments about free markets and letting firms sink or swim do seem appealing - but the author likely knew that acknowledging what this public funds were for (to modernize steel production and keep it in Canada) would be appealing to most Spec readers.

The author very purposefully glosses over the reasoning for some of the public funds that have gone to Algoma - such as the over $400m that went towards it's decarbonization (a similar investment has been made at #HamOnt Arcelor Mittal Dofasco).

Metrolinx doesn't have a single staff member show up to the LRT subcommittee, the LRT office for the city doesn't seem to have the information or expertise needed to advise the LRT subcommittee, and the subcommittee itself doesn't seem to know it's role in the engagement process.

Cllr Cooper continues to cite climate change as a reason to add lanes to the Linc/RHVP, after all cars melt glaciers even when they're stuck in traffic.
Climate should be the obvious and biggest reason for that Metrolinx report request. #HamOnt
